Scientific Research Department of the Sofia University (NIS-SU)

The Scientific and Research Department (NIS) of Sofia University “St. Kilemnt Ohridski” was established as a structural unit of the University and covers the activities of the academic staff in organizing, servicing and carrying out of fundamental and applied research, consultancy, expert, technological and other activities, carried out on the basis of contracts.

The organization has extensive experience in administrative, financial and logistical service of research and educational projects within the framework of various EU programs and initiatives: Socrates / Erasmus, LdV I and II; LLP - LdV, Erasmus; Grundtvig, Copernicus, 6-7 FP and others. Its research activities cover various fields of natural and social sciences, with particularly active performances in the fields of ecology and environmental protection, microbiology and biotechnology, information technologies, higher education, etc. (web-site)
